“It is the city’s firm ambition to be 100% circular and climate neutral in 2050.” The message of Eveline Jonkhoff (City of Amsterdam) was clear during Cumulus Park’s event ‘Transforming to Circular Business Models’ on 16 June.
Based on Kate Raworth’s doughnut model, Amsterdam and the province of North Holland have plans to change the economy. But how do we transform into Circular Business Models? Our key insights from the event, where also Ikea Nederland, G-Star RAW and TooGoodToGo shared their organization’s inspiring circular strategies:
• Create incentives for waste management
• Set-up a peer-to-peer platform for centralized distribution of materials throughout the city
• Launch a local currency for the city of Amsterdam
Are you interested to collaboratively innovate on these kind of topics?
Our next event on Circular Business Models will be announced soon. Don’t miss it!
